Stockton Cycling Festival

The Stockton Cycling Festival 2015 saw 100′s of people, of all ages and abilities, take to the streets of Stockton on their bikes.

On Friday the Town Centre Racing event thrilled crowds that packed Stockton High Street. Showing world class cycling on a tight, closed road circuit around the brand new Stockton High Street. The race was eventually won by Chris Lawless from Team Wiggins.

On Saturday hundreds of cyclists took part in one of our Sportive rides. Heading out from Stockton Riverside in a Tour De France style guided start the rides ranged from 36 to 108 miles in length.

Also taking part in the Sportive this year where Team Stockton – a group of cyclists who where using the ride to promote the 2016 National Road Race Championships which will be taking place in Stockton in June next year.

Finally on the Sunday of the Festival Stockton Riverside hosted an Events Village packed with loads of cycling stalls, activities and performances. Also on site was the ASDA StreetVelodrome, the onyl pop up cycling track in the world. The Events Village also launched RideStockton – our mass participation ride that looped around Stockton High Street.

The Events Village also had the start and finish of the Stockton Grand Prix – part of the British Cycling Elite Road Race series.
