Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Show

Our popular Fire Engine and Vintage Vehicle Show returned to Preston Park on 23 & 24 June bringing thrills and spills for all the whole family.

Visitors took a step back in time to enjoy fire-fighting vehicles from the earliest times to the most modern of appliances and motoring from the 30’s to the present day. There was also more than 300 classic, vintage and historic vehicles on display, including a Rolls Royce Shadow, an E type Jaguar, a Singer 9 and collections of micro cars and Austin Gipsys.

Families also enjoyed a packed programme of displays and activities in the main arena including a range of exciting rescue and pumping displays from local firefighters.  Highlights from the weekend included a performance from the Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team, The White Helmets. After 90 years entertaining and thrilling crowds with their dazzling arena displays, the team were performing as part of their final tour.

There was also monster truck mayhem in the shape of ‘Swamp Thing’, a market area packed with craft and food stalls, as well as fairground rides and bouncy castles.
