Sparkles Festive Spiegeltent

Alongside our magical Stockton Sparkles Christmas Market, we'll be welcoming some unique Christmas events and activities inside our Festive Spiegeltent on Stockton High StreetThe Spiegeltent is a temporary pop-up event space billed as a 'stunning and truly unique event space'. It will play host to a four-day programme of choirs, bands and festive entertainment that’s not to be missed!

Our Festive Spiegeltent will be open as below, offering events and activities for the whole family - keep an eye on our website and social media (facebook, twitter and instagram) for some exciting news and ticket information.

Craft Workshop Information

Peg Creations – Join artist Nicola Cowley of Peg Creations, an eco-friendly arts organisation who specialise in hand made and sustainable products. Nicola will provide you with all the materials and inspiration required to create beautiful bespoke Wooden festive wreaths, small Christmas Trees and Snowman Sculptures through the Stockton Sparkles Programme. Check out the timetable above for listings dates and times.

BloomInArt – Artists Emma Wheetman and Rachel Laycock will lead a special fused glass workshops on Sunday 8th of December. Blooming arts are a community arts organisation who enable and encourage people to find their own inner artists. Make a small trinket dish or tile of your own design with expert help. The Blooming Arts team will take your designs, fire them in a kiln and return them individually wrapped to Rediscover Stockton on the High Street week commencing 16th of December – for collection between 9.30am–5pm Mon- Sat.

‘Stars Fell On Stockton’ a performance for schools

Mike McGrother, the Haverton Hillbillies and some of the finest emerging young musicians from the Tees Valley will perform for local visiting schools. The event will include of some of the most iconic songs that were once performed at the Globe by none other than Cilla Black, The Rolling Stones and Buddy Holly to mention but a few.

Ticketed event, for local schools only-this section will be performed again as part of the evening performance of ‘Stars fell on Stockton’ - see below.

Station 2 - BloomInArt host a wet felted festive card workshop with embroidered embellishments. This is a fun, all-ages activity and you can make your cards as intricate or as simple as you like!

Festive Speakeasy with Mike McGrother

Christmas is a time when family and friends old and new come together and reflect on the events of the year. Join Mike McGrother as he encourages chatter, reminiscing and old-time singalongs inspired by Christmas’s of years gone by. All are welcome, just bring along your memories!

What is a Spiegeltent?

‘Spiegeltent’ literally translates as ‘mirror tent’ and they were created in Belgium in the 20th century. Spiegeltents are hand-hewn pavilions known for their wild and decadent ambiance and used for travelling dance halls, bars and bohemian entertainment salons. The round tent is made of dark wood with intricately carved panels, stained glass windows, bevelled mirrors and an impressively draped ceiling making it the perfect place for any festive event.
