Stockton Fireworks

Join us for one of the largest and most spectacular free displays in the country as our fireworks spectacular returns to Stockton's Riverside on Sunday 4 November 2018.

Please note-the Fireworks display will start at 6.30pm. The BBC Tees Radio Roadshow starts from 5pm.

Back in February we put this year’s date to a public vote and residents voted in favour of holding the event on Sunday 4th November - making it much easier for families to attend, particularly for those with small children. We've also brought the start time forward, with the BBC Tees Radio Roadshow starting at 5pm before all eyes will look to the sky for our spectacular display at 6.30pm.

This year’s theme is War & Peace, which is fitting as the event takes place exactly one week before the centenary of the end of the First World War, and will be a spectacular and colourful tribute to the impact of war and a celebration of peace.

This fantastic free event will start with a special BBC Tees Radio roadshow, hosted by Amy Oakden and Neil Green from BBC Tees Breakfast show, with performances from singer/songwriter Oli Patto, the fantastic Rock Choir made up of sixty plus individuals from around the region, and former X Factor contestant Sam Lavery who will headline our stage entertainment.

Visitors can also enjoy a fairground in Parliament Street car park (open 5pm-9.30pm) as well as a smaller children’s funfair at High Street car park (open 5pm-8.30pm) and refreshments stalls at Bishop Street car park, so be sure to wrap up warm for one of the highlights of Stockton’s events calendar.

All event details and timings are approximate and subject change.

Important travel information

Last year's Stockton Fireworks event attracted an estimated 55,000 and with similar numbers predicted this year, Stockton Town Centre is expected to be exceptionally busy. As a result the roads are likely to be busy, especially after the event as people leave the town centre, and we ask motorists to remain patient during this special event.

We would recommend walking or utilising public transport where possible. You can visit Connect Tees Valley site to help you find the best options for your journey or why not park a short walk from the town centre and complete your journey on foot.

There will be a small number of road closures in operation for the event, full details of these can be found here.

There's plenty of car parking spaces available during Stockton Fireworks, all within easy reach of Stockton town centre and Riverside. Please ensure you park legally and sensibly, whilst adhering to any restrictions in place for the event. Please also be aware of any restrictions and charges in place if parking in a private car park.
