SuperCar Saturday
Get in gear as Supercar Saturday returns to Stockton High Street on Saturday 4 May 2019!
The popular event is back following its successful introduction in 2018, which saw huge numbers of motoring enthusiasts descended on the high street for the free family event.
The town centre will once again become a hive of activity for lovers of vintage, classic and racing cars. Visitors to the event will enjoy a showcase of 80 vehicles on Stockton High Street, with 20 displayed in the high street marquee, 20 displayed on the high street carpark and 40 displayed on Bishop Street carpark. There'll also be a unique double two-lap parade around the High Street at 12 noon, with 20 cars per parade, giving spectators the chance to hear and see the vehicles in action!
This event is once again brought to you by the fantastic team at JPC Specialist Motorsport and supported by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.
Important travel information
There will be a small number of temporary road closures in operation around the town centre for the event, full details of these can be found below:
- Stockton High Street
- Central length, between bus turning loops from 3:30-5:30am on Saturday 4 May and 00:01-02:01am on Sunday 5 May 2019
- From its junction with Norton Road / Bishopton Lane (Maxwells Corner) to its junction with the northern most point of the southern loop - 10:30am – 2:30pm Saturday 4 May
- From its junction with Bridge Road / Yarm Lane to its junction with the northern most point of the southern loop from 11:55am-13:00pm on Saturday 4 May
- Church Road - between its junctions with High Street and The Square (west) from 10:30am-2:30pm on Saturday 4 May
- Knowles Street / East Side Service Road – full length from 4am-6pm on Saturday 4 May
- Bishop Street – between its junctions with Knowles Street and Calverts Lane from 4am – 6pm on Saturday 4 May
- Yarm Lane - between its junctions with Yarm Street and High Street from 11:55am-13:00pm on Saturday 4 May
- Bridge Road - from its junction with Yarm Lane for a distance of approximately 40 metres in a southerly direction from 11:55am-13:00pm on Saturday 4 May
- Bath Lane (northern end) - at its junction with Bath Place for a distance of 12 metres to the south from 10:30am-2:30pm on Saturday 4 May
There will also be some temporary clearways in operation with no stopping permitted between 4am and 6pm (unless stated) on Saturday 4 May, including:
- Stockton High Street-full length
- Church Road-between its junctions with High Street and The Square west (4am-4pm)
- Bishop Street-between its junctions with Knowles Street and Calverts Lane
- Knowles Street-full length.
- High Street, east side service road-full length.
- Prince Regent Street (4am-4pm)
- East side – from a point approximately 40 metres north of its junction with Yarm Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 58 metres.
- West side – from a point approximately 42 metres north of its junction with Yarm Lane in a northerly direction for a distance of approximately 33 metres.
- Bishopton Lane (north side) – from a point approximately 62 metres west of its junction with Norton Road in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 30 metres (4am-4pm)
- Norton Road (west side) - from its junction with Laing Street in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 30 metres in a southerly direction (4am-4pm).
- Park Terrace (4am-4pm)
- (south side) - from a point approximately 3 metres west of its junction with Bridge Road in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 17 metres.
- From a point approximately 32 metres west of its junction with Bridge Road in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 17 metres.
There will also be a temporary car park closure of both High Street and Bishop Street car parks between 6pm on Friday 3 May until 6pm on Saturday 4 May.
