The Gift

The Gift will return for a third year, as part of our Stockton Sparkles winter festival. And you can help make this festive season a little brighter for those in our borough who are less fortunate this Christmas.

Your donation to The Gift will help young people in the Borough who are leaving care, the Moses Project charity which supports adults affected by drug and alcohol misuse and the NeoAngels charity which supports families of sick and premature babies.

We’re asking for generous donations of either useful presents or your time to help us wrap them into hampers - and we'll be distributing these, in-time for Christmas.

What to donate - we’re looking for donations of:

  • Toiletries (sets) and sanitary products
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Gift sets
  • Lip balms
  • Hand creams
  • Socks / slippers
  • Hats, scarves and gloves
  • Hairbrushes / accessories
  • Alarm clock and other gifts
  • Toothpaste / toothbrush
  • Chocolates / biscuits / sweets

Please note; this is a specific list of the gifts most needed and unfortunately we cannot accept any other gifts that do no appear on this list.  Items should be new condition.

Where to donate:

You can donate at our drop-off points from Thursday 28 November at:

  • Stockton Rediscover
  • Billingham Community Centre
  • Durham University (Wolfson Building, Queens Campus)

You can also bring your donation on the day itself.

Volunteers:

Join us at The Gift event on Saturday 14 December, between 10.30am and 3.30pm, where there’ll be plenty of activity and craft tables for you to get involved with gift wrapping, writing Christmas cards, designing paper decorations and more!

There will be a selection of festive entertainment and carols to keep you warm and what's more, in exchange for your donation, we'll even provide you with tea/coffee and a delicious mince pie!

Any groups of 10+ people wishing to volunteer can call 01642 527389 or email [email protected] to book a time slot.
